CRICKET
Check me out! My name is Cricket and I’m a buff & white female cocker spaniel, my DOB is 2/22/09 and I weigh in at 34.2 lbs. I’m what you would call a special girl and I need a very dog savvy owner who is willing to let me be me. I’m independent, not a Velcro cocker. I can be very affectionate but on my own terms when I am ready, not when you might want me to be. I like to run and play on my own. On sunny days I love to amuse myself by chasing shadows and playing with my imaginary friends. It’s best not to grab me when I’m in play mode but instead to call my name to get my attention & snap me out of my own little world. For that reason I’d do better in a home with no small children under 7 years old. I may even be better off as the only dog in the house, but that’s not an absolute requirement. I am choosy about my doggie friends. I like to check them out but I am not so keen on them checking me out in return.

A home with a doggie door and a big fenced-in back yard would be perfect for me. If it’s lit up at night, all the better! More time to romp and play. I love it when my human comes out with me to watch my antics. My foster mom says I bounce around a lot like Pepe Le Pew. I don't know who that is but it makes her smile. She tried a game called “Chase the Flashlight Beam” but I got really wound up and over-stimulated so we decided that’s not a good game for me to play. It was fun though.
When I’m taking a break from play time (or on cloudy days) I do like to cuddle up next to my foster mom on the sofa and have my belly rubbed. Sometimes I will get up on the back of the sofa near her and lay my head down on her shoulder. I like to sleep on the bed right next to my human. I am really very sweet. I just have this thing about loving to chase shadows and play on my own.
Cricket is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and ready for adoption. If you think Cricket could be the dog for you, please click on the link to fill out our Adoption Application. She’s looking forward to meeting her new human and having a new forever home.
